Florist’s Guide to Westerleigh Crematorium
As the local florist for Westerleigh, we receive many questions from families about how flowers are handled at the Crematorium. We have compiled this guide to help you plan your tribute.
Where do the flowers go?
For services in both the Waterside Chapel and the Woodland Chapel, floral tributes are usually displayed on the Flower Terrace immediately after the service.
Note: Tributes typically remain on display for a minimum of 2 nights. After this period, they are respectfully removed by crematorium staff.
Can we leave flowers in the Garden of Remembrance?
Yes, but there are strict rules to protect the natural beauty of the grounds:
No Glass or Plastic: Westerleigh Crematorium does not allow glass vases, plastic wrappers, or non-biodegradable containers in the Garden of Remembrance or Woodland areas, as they pose a risk to wildlife.
Our Solution: We create specific "natural tie" posies and sheaves that are fully biodegradable and permitted in these areas.

What is the best time for delivery?
We deliver tributes directly to the Funeral Director at least 2 hours before the service, or directly to the Crematorium’s delivery bay for early morning services. You do not need to transport the flowers yourself.
The "Plastic-Free" Promise
Westerleigh Group is committed to reducing plastic waste. We support this by offering foam-free mechanics (using moss and twine instead of green floral foam) for families who want a truly sustainable tribute.
